I saw this over at slashdot. Apparently something good may come out of the copyright office. By the way, fuck you Sunny Bono and your mouse fetish. There is no need for copyrights to any longer than a persons life plus maybe 20 years, but fucking 70 years (95 if you are a corporation).

Why does this piss you off so much? I never knew you felt so passionately about patenting shit. Or do you just dislike Sonny Bono? That is understandable. Wait, didn't he get murdered by a tree?
awesome, apparently I don't know how to make a hyperlink.
I think that both copyrights and patents are fucked, because one lasts too long and the other is give out for stupid things that have prior art (i.e. obvious things that people have done before).
Basically, I think that tying up information for too long will stagnate all development/change/improvement. I personally like change because it illustrates how stupid people are because they are either scared of good things or they embrace stupid things.
